Pay the Farmers a Fair Price

In the US, we drink over 300 million cups of coffee per day. Of the average $2 per cup, less than a penny will go to the farmer who actually grew the coffee. Almost every coffee roasters and almost every coffee house owner will claim that they "work with their farmers" but we have found that an extremely small few can back that up. Many of these roasters and coffee houses will have posters and stickers all over their products claiming that they pay Fair prices and take care of the people in coffee growing regions. The reality is they don't and it's rather easy to get these posters and stickers.

Little Feet believes the coffee farmer who grows an award-winning cup is a true artisan, and should be paid as such. The farmers of Las Capucas are committed to healthy environmental practices and sustainable social practices and spend countless hours tending to their craft. Our goal at Little Feet Coffee is to make sure that the farmers who grow the coffee are the ones that get paid. Our verifiable price is directly to the cooperative and for the past 2 years we have paid 50% over standard Fair Trade prices. We believe human effort is the most critical factor in quality coffee and that the growers who do the work should be rewarded for it.

As Little Feet Coffee continues to grow, we will be fully committed to seeing the farmers of every cooperative be well paid for their craft.

Little Feet has helped to promote our communities' vision for a better future for our families. Little Feet has given 100's of soccer balls out to the local children and most recently has helped to redo our communities' soccer field. Little Feet Coffee has also provided extra income to our farmer families through the purchase of specialty coffees from our local coffee cooperative. Gracias!
